Smiling in photographs is great, but I also love it too when I don’t get that smile, so a mixture of both in a session is just fantastic! I am loving the winter bobble hat this baby girl is wearing, the extra pop of colour it has provides an extra dimension to the images, as as you can probably tell I just love hats.
The bobbles on this hat were tickling the little girl and she was trying her hardest to grab them but every time she swung her head left and right the bobbles moved just out of reach, Nan and I were in fits of laughter, when all of a sudden she grabbed one and her face is just a picture, have a look on the photograph below, she is really proud of herself and rightly so. A big thank you to them both for such a wonderful session, it was a privilege to photograph her 6 month milestone.

I hope everyone is having a happy New Year, I have such a lot of sessions to blog about from before Christmas, it was really busy I had such a wonderful time meeting new and old clients again and receiving such lovely feedback from clients who gave our products to family for gifts….two recent ones can be found here.
Now, this is one of those sessions where I could show you each and every photograph. It’s so hard to narrow them down (they had a whopping 51 images in their gallery), this little girl is such a character, and an absolute adorable cutie.
I just love this age where they are so inquisitive, probably the same age when you start to tear your hair out as they put the toast in the DVD when you turn your back for a second, and you haven’t got a minute to yourself. She had the quiet thinking moments (butter wouldn’t melt) and then her face would light up with the best smile ever….gorgeous!

I have had the privilege of photographing ‘S’ 8 years ago now for her portfolio, and when she was getting married and she asked me to take her wedding photographs I promptly offered to 2nd shoot for my mum who is an amazing wedding photographer (more about me being proudly the third generation of photographer in my family in another post later). Anyway, back to this family…I was thrilled when she contacted me to photograph the story of her family including a maternity session and newborn session and oh my what a lovely caring and sweet family she has, with two beautiful girls.
After quite a while of trying to get the baby to sleep for the sleepy baby on tummy shot we realised that it wasn’t going to happen and when I look at the images below, I am really pleased because I have managed to capture lovely images of her, and I just love the shot with dad, their smiles at each other are just lovely. So thank you ‘S’ for a some fantastic sessions, I am thrilled you love your images and thank you for your review, I have copied it below….
Hi Sarah, I would just like to thank you for the AMAZING photos that you took for us. You captured a very special time in our lives when I was pregnant, and also when ‘D’ was born. They are up in the playroom and everyone has commented on how beautiful they are, we are so proud. The Couture Clusters are amazing and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Perfect little fingers, toes mouth big blue eyes and Amazing hair and just look at those gorgeous eyelashes on this newborn baby! This session is all about the sweetness and simplicity of newborn session images. Classics which will stand the test of time, through her toddling age, teenage and old age, memories of newborn softness which will last forever. Taken at our studio on a plain white background to avoid any distractions and to concentrate the focus on her (after all it is all about her).
I just love her lying in Daddy’s arms, you can really get an idea of how small she is next to his hands.
And best of all for me, she is a Tots to Toddlers sessions baby, so I am very much looking forward to watching her grow up. Here are some of Mum and Dad’s favorite images from the session.

Its great news that the studio is really busy at the moment with new and returning clients booking in for sessions in time for Christmas. The slight downside is that the blog is a bit neglected at the moment!
So before my next session arrives today, I just wanted to write a quick post on this family session. Mum collected her wall portraits today as was thrilled with them and I am delighted too because they were lovely to work with and the kids were just brilliant, up for anything and just so natural in front of the camera…to me you can just see the close bond that they all share. Mum was keen to have family photographs now, before it was too late, as the kids were all growing up fast and she wanted this time to be captured forever, and it was my absolute privilege to photograph them.

Apart from being an absolute style icon in her sunglasses, this little girl had just discovered how to coast around the furniture, not quite walking yet on her own but confident enough to stand up having just ‘found her feet’, tippy toeing around, so it was lovely to capture that important moment in her life, it wouldn’t be long before she would be taking her own big strides on her own and the fleeting moment of being a toddler is over. This is why photography is so important to me, being able to capture these amazing milestones for all time, to look back at that moment time and time again after your child has grown up and remember it forever.

Introducing the most bouncy puppy (yes puppy, he is big), Oscar. He was so funny and such a brilliant character I love the images with his teddy (every dogs best friend) and of course taking himself for his walkies. Every time I see these they make me smile, which of course is what my style of photography is all about, capturing personalities, and making you smile…..
